Dorsey associates now eligible for bonuses

Dorsey & Whitney managing partner Marianne Short told Minnesota Lawyer last week that in addition to the associate salary reduction at Dorsey, leadership partners are turning back bonuses.
While the Dorsey salary cuts will remain in effect at least through the remainder of the year, the firm has reinstated the bonuses for which associates are eligible — a productivity bonus and a discretionary bonus. (The bonuses were frozen at the end of last year.)
Some practice areas are getting more work than others so some associates are busier than others, she said. “We want to reward those in very busy practice areas who are doing twice as much as somebody in another area.”
