Mentally Ill and Dangerous

Where the proposed patient concedes that he is mentally ill; in Nov. 2006, the proposed patient hijacked a bus and assaulted and kidnapped the bus driver; and the patient has a pattern of becoming medication noncompliant, causing his symptoms to return; we conclude that the District Court did not err by concluding that the proposed patient had engaged in an overt act causing or attempting to cause serious physical harm to another and was substantially likely to engage in future acts capable of inflicting serious physical harm on another, as required for commitment as mentally ill and dangerous. Affirmed.
